Matt and I met during the second week of our freshman year at CMU in 2010. Our shared love for Italian food brought us together in the lunch line. Matt decided it would be best to stand next to me in the line, instead of behind me. His first words to me were, “so, you like pasta?” His smooth talking landed him a lunch with me where we spent time talking and laughing. It didn’t take long before we realized that we were to be more than just lunch buddies. Since that day we have been inseparable and have worked to support and encourage each other through all that we have faced.
Once we graduated in 2016 we started our careers with an aim to stay as close to ‘Up North’ as possible. Since then we have spent our summers camping, hiking, kayaking, swimming, sightseeing, mountain biking, and adventuring all over our beautiful state. It was during one of these trips that Matt proposed.
On our way up to camp on the beach in Munising for a weekend of kayaking to Pictured Rocks, Matt surprised me with a trip to Oswald’s bear ranch since he knew bears were my favorite. During our visit, with bears all around, Matt got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so surprised and elated. After 8 years of dating my natural response to Matt was, “about time!” We are so excited for our wedding and we cannot wait to celebrate with all of you Up North in Charlevoix.

Sleeping Bear Dunes-In 2011, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore was named the most beautiful place in America. The park contains thousands of acres of rolling dunes and forest, all open to exploration by foot or car. It's a great place for a picnic, walk, or just spending the day at the beach.
Go boating! Take advantage of the gorgeous blue water and unwind.
Take a winery tour! There are so many to choose from but some of our favorites are Chateau Fontaine, Bluestone Vineyards, Bowers Harbor, and Chateau Chantal
Hang out downtown! It's such a charming little downtown with plenty of shops, restaurants, and of course-beer and wine!
